Short Story of The Fox And The Goat with Morals – Download PDF Copy

Once upon a time, in the green forest, lived a wise but cunning fox named Felix. One sunny afternoon, Felix was wandering around looking for something to eat when he accidentally fell into a deep, dry well. He tried to jump out, but the walls were too high.

As the sun began to set, a thirsty goat named Gabby came to the well. Hearing a sound, Gabby looked in and saw Felix at the bottom.

“What are you doing down there, Felix?” Gabby asked curiously.

Felix, seeing an opportunity, called out, “Oh, Gabby! The water down here is the best I’ve ever tasted. Why don’t you come and try it?”

Gabby, who was very thirsty, didn’t think twice. She jumped into the well to quench her thirst. But to her surprise, there was no water!

“Where’s the water?” Gabby asked, confused and frustrated.

Felix smirked, “Oh, I only said that to get you down here. Now you can help me get out.”

Gabby felt cheated but still decided to help. She stood still and let Felix climb onto her back so he could jump out of the well. Once outside, Felix thanked Gabby but left without helping her in return.

Poor Gabby was stuck in the well until a kind farmer heard her cries and came to rescue her the next morning.

The moral of the story is: think twice before jumping into situations, and beware of those who encourage you to take risks for their own benefit.
