Once there lived a mighty lion in a dense, shady forest. He was known as the king of the forest and was respected by all the animals for his strength and wisdom. But one day, this mighty lion became very ill. He lay in his cave, too weak to move, moaning in pain.
When news of the lion’s illness spread through the forest, many animals came to visit him, wishing him a speedy recovery. They all hoped that showing concern would gain them favor when the lion recovered.
However, the wise fox heard about the sick lion and sensed something suspicious. He decided to be cautious and observe from a distance first. As he approached the lion’s den, he noticed that while many animals entered, none came out. This made the clever fox even more suspicious.
Instead of going in, the fox stood at the entrance of the cave and called out, “How are you, Mr. Lion? I heard you were sick, so I came to see you.”
The lion, weak but still hungry, tried to sound welcoming and said, “Thank you for coming, dear fox. Please, come in.”
But the fox, with a knowing twinkle in his eyes, replied, “I’d love to come in, but I’ve noticed that everyone who goes in never seems to come out. So I think I’ll just stay here and chat.”
Hearing this, the lion realized that his plan had been uncovered. He had hoped to trick the animals into coming in so he could eat them. Ashamed that his scheme had been exposed, he simply told the fox to leave.
The wise fox trotted back into the forest, feeling proud that he had trusted his instincts.
Moral of the story: Always be cautious and use your wisdom. Sometimes it’s wiser to observe and think before entering an unknown situation.
