Once upon a time, there was a wise fox named Freddy who lived in a cozy cave deep in the forest. Freddy was widely known for his cunning ways and his love of playing tricks on other animals.
One day, Freddy invited his friend Sarah the stork to his cave for dinner. Sarah was polite and confident, so she readily accepted the invitation. But when she arrived, Freddy served the soup in a shallow cup, making it impossible for Sarah to eat with her long beak.
“Oh dear,” said Sarah, trying her best to drink the soup but failing. “I’m sorry, Freddy, but it seems I can’t eat like this.”
Freddy just laughed and enjoyed his meal as he watched Sarah struggle. After finishing his soup, he looked at Sarah and said, “Well, I hope you enjoyed your dinner. It was nice to see you.”
Embarrassed and disappointed, Sarah left Freddy’s lair, vowing never to trust him again.
However, Freddy’s trick did not go unnoticed. The other forest animals heard about what he had done to poor Sarah and began to avoid him.
Feeling lonely and regretful, Freddy decided to apologize to Sarah and make things right. He invited her again, but this time he served the soup in tall glasses that were perfect for Sarah’s beak.
Sarah was pleasantly surprised by Freddy’s thoughtful gesture and forgave him. From that day on, they became good friends, and Freddy learned that it is better to be kind and considerate than to play tricks on others.
Moral of the story: Treat others the way you want to be treated. Kindness and care will win you more friends than deceit and trickery.
