Once upon a time, in a distant kingdom, there lived a young princess who loved to play in the royal garden by a crystal-clear pond. One sunny day, while playing with her favorite golden ball, it slipped from her hand and fell into the pond.
As she sat sadly by the water, wondering how to retrieve her ball, a frog with bright green skin and glowing eyes popped its head up from the pond. “Why are you so sad, Princess?” asked the frog.
“I dropped my ball into the pond, and I can’t get it back,” she replied, tears welling up in her eyes.
“I can help you get your ball back,” said the frog. “But if I do, you must promise to let me live in the castle with you, eat from your plate, and sleep on your pillow.”
The princess hesitated at first but eventually agreed to the frog’s terms. The frog leapt into the pond and soon returned with the golden ball.
True to her word, the princess allowed the frog to live with her. At first, she felt uncomfortable and a little uneasy with the frog eating from her plate and sleeping on her pillow. However, as the days passed, she realized that the frog was kind and wise, sharing many interesting stories and giving her thoughtful advice.
One night, as the frog rested on the princess’s pillow, he suddenly transformed into a handsome prince! He explained that an evil witch had cursed him to live as a frog until a princess let him eat from her plate and sleep on her pillow.
The princess and the prince became the best of friends, and soon after, they were married. They lived happily ever after, always cherishing how their friendship began.
Moral of the story: Don’t judge someone based on appearances; the value of a person, or a frog, comes from their heart and what they can teach us about kindness.
