Short Story of The Town Mouse And The Country Mouse with Morals – Download PDF Copy

Once there lived a mouse in a big green forest. He had a cozy little hole full of corn and nuts. One sunny day, his cousin, the City Mouse, came to visit from the city.

The Country Mouse was so happy to see his cousin. He quickly prepared a simple meal of corn and nuts. But the City Mouse wrinkled his nose and said, “Oh, cousin, how can you eat such ordinary food? In the city, I eat cakes and cheese!”

Intrigued by city life, the Country Mouse decided to visit the city. He was amazed by the delicious food the city mice had—cakes, cheese, and so much more!

But just as they were finishing their meal, a cat jumped out! They ran as fast as they could and hid in a small hole, their hearts pounding. The Country Mouse realized that while the food was tasty, danger was always lurking nearby.

After the cat left, they tried to eat again, but soon a human came to set a mousetrap! The Country Mouse had never been so scared in his life. He missed his peaceful, safe home.

Finally, the Country Mouse said, “Thank you for the visit, but I prefer my simple and quiet life, with plain food and no fear of cats or traps!”

He returned to the forest and lived happily ever after, enjoying his simple meals in peace.

Moral of the story: Sometimes simple and safe is better than fancy and dangerous.
